Our school had a fantastic cake stall to help Kindergarten go to the zoo. Thank you to all the parents and teachers who made yummy food. A BIG thank you to the parents who helped sell the cakes. An ENORMOUS THANKYOU to all those who ate and helped raise over $300.00.

Henri Matisse was a French Artist who belonged to a radical group known as the ‘Fauves’. They were a group of artists who used vivid colours and stylized or distorted decoration. While Matisse is well known for his paintings in his later years while confined to a wheelchair he began using collage( creating pictures by cutting or tearing shapes out of coloured paper).

We had to use collage to create our own pictures. Who knows one day one of us may become a famous artist.

Mrs Hankin put our knowledge of 2D shapes to the test. Using the shapes she gave us, we had to create a helicopter. We do not think any of us got tricked! How many shapes can you see?
